Diesel Locomotive Engineers

We are currently looking to recruit Diesel Locomotive Engineers to join our expanding organisation. Existing knowledge of heritage diesel locomotives is an essential requirement for these roles. In return we offer an exciting position supporting our group main line railway operations.

This is a Full-time role and we offer a flexible working pattern. Some weekend work will be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Day to day planning and execution of routine maintenance, repairs and modifications to our growing fleet of diesel locomotives, including Classes 37, 45, 47 and 55.
  • Supporting operational service delivery of charter and other services to support wider rail group activities.
  • Providing advice and support to management regarding potential additions to the Locomotive fleet.

Key Skills

  • Time served engineer with relevant post qualifying experience of diesel locomotive engineering.
  • Medically fit with either existing or ability to obtain Personal Track Safety (PTS) certification
  • Proven team working ability.

Salary dependent on experience.

Fitter/Machinist

We are looking to recruit a Fitter/Machinist to join our Steam Locomotive Mechanical Department at our new facility in Crewe. Prior experience in the railway industry will be an advantage.

Full time. Monday to Friday. 37.5 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overhaul of locomotives to a high standard and to deadlines.
  • Machining parts to a high standard and within set tolerances.
  • Ensure all work carried out complies with the company's Safety Management System document and applicable statutory legislation regarding the workplace.
  • Undertake any other task that may reasonably fall within the remit of a Fitter/Machinist.

Key Skills

  • Competent in the use of machine centres and hand tools.
  • Welding.
  • Gas cutting.
  • Adept at machining components and fitting them to locomotives.

Salary dependent on experience.
