Steam through Wales

Hauled by a lovingly restored steam locomotive, we will journey through the rolling countryside of the Welsh borders.1

Enjoy the outstanding views of the Long Mynd, known by the Victorians as 'Little Switzerland, observe the historic cities of Ludlow and Hereford and in the distance, the Brecon Beacons. Our journey culminates with an arrival into the impressive Welsh Capital.

Wales' capital has no shortage of activities to delight. During our time in Cardiff you can partake in some fantastic shopping experiences, engaging museums or charming parks.

Perhaps visit the National Museum Cardiff to find out more about the history of this enchanting country, the resplendant Cardiff Castle, or take a stroll to Cardiff Bay, with it's restaurants, waterside views and of course the iconic Millennium centre.

Steam through the Welsh Borders

We are journeying to Cardiff on two Saturdays in 2018.

On Saturday 12th May and Saturday 16th June one of our magnificently restored and lovingly maintained steam locomotives - Royal Scot, Britannia, Braunton1 - will take charge of our train for our journey to the Welsh Capital.

Climb aboard luxuriously upholstered, historic 1950's railway carriages and step back in time2. Our liveried stewards will bring drinks to your seat as we speed through breathtaking countryside. What delights lay before you as our train train eases into the platform...
